PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version: Windows XP Home Edition
Problem Application Name & Version:Word 2002
Problem Hardware Make & Model:
Error Messages:

I am trying to scan a document into Word 2002.  My document is called patient information and has lines on it to fill in medical information.  I have tried several different ways to get this done and I always run into a problem trying to get it done.  I can get the document scanned in but I am just having problems getting my text entered into it.  If I scan it into a program and then open it in Word 2002 it says something about encoding options and I do not know which one to choose.  It comes up like this. (Example: nnvjkuohwrnfsnfuvfjj)It looks nothing like I scanned it in at.  I have also tried scanning it in directly to Word 2002 but it does not look like my original and I also cannot get the curser to work so that I can click and fill in the information.  I would appreciate it if anyone knows how to do this to e-mail me at EFCloggers@aol.com and tell me step by step how to do this.  I have been trying to figure this out all week and it is about to drive me crazy!!!  Thanks so much for your help. Here is a example of the document below.

Child's Name_________________________ Phone_______________________

Address_________________________________  School____________________

Mother's Name__________________________  Father's Name______________

Hi,

Scanning a document with a scanner actually creates a digital copy in an image format. Therefore you cannot directly edit the text unless you convert the image to text using an OCR software like OmniPage http://www.scansoft.com/omnipage/

You can scan the document into Word as an image.

Check to see if your scanner has an OCR software that came with it, sometimes they do.
