PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:XP Pro
Problem Application Name & Version:N/a
Problem Hardware Make & Model:ATI Radeon 9600SE 128Mb
Error Messages:None

Mainboard Details
JETWAY 830CF Board
SIS 730 CHIPSET
CPU: AMD Athlon 1.1Mhz (Clock Speed)
RAM 259,506,176

Hullo there

I have just purchased the above AGP card but when I install it into my Jetway 830CF Mainboard I get no output to the monitor.

My mainboard only supports upto AGP 4x but this card is 8x enabled, I would like to know if it is possible to install an 8x AGP into 4x mainboards.

When the PC boots it does not seem to get past the post test, I have tried various settings on my bios to rectify the problem but to be honest I think the problem is starting before the bios kicks in, its got me stumped and I'm usually the one everyone asks for help.

I have not tried the card in another PC as yet and I will do this as soon as I can but I wanted to know if you have any Ideas until I can rip someone elses PC to shreds.

You will have guessed that the PC is fine when I remove the card.

Does that motherboard handle the 1.5 to 1.8 voltages that are required for that video card

Your AGP slot will be labeled AGP PRO and should have had a sticker on it saying so
