PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:windows me
Problem Application Name & Version:internet explorer

Problem Hardware Make & Model:
Error Messages:



I cannot upgrade to IE 6; either by downloading via windows update or from a disk.  the download or install from disk locks up the computer at about 53% installed.  no error messages.

Restart your Computer (Not cold start) and then try installing I.E.6
When was the last time you did a Scandisk and Defrag ?

what do you mean restart, but not "cold start"? I have restarted from the start menu and I have restarted after completely shutting down the computer.  No very recent scan disk or defrag. will try. thx rich

Hi DD,
Download ie6 sp1 to your desktop.Use ieradicator to get rid of previous version of ie.Then install ie6 sp1.Make sure you back up your favorites cause ieradicator will delete them.
