First, Get rid of  BulletProofSoft.com\SpywareRemover
Uninstall it and then update Spybot----do another scan---\
Remove all entries in RED
Next---download the free version of ADAWARE (I use both, they work good
together) Here's a link
Install----update----Check for problems--fix everything
Restart your computer and post another Hijackthis log

With AVG updated, have you tried restarting in Safe mode,
and trying another Scan?

SAFE MODE----When computer is booting up, after the single post beep--
try tapping F8----Select Safe mode

Let's try a different route
I notice you have 2 popup stoppers running, WHY?
Have hijackthis fix this entry if you didn't manually add it to your hosts file

O1 - Hosts: 217.116.231.7 aimtoday.aol.com

Restart---You may want to try shutting down some programs on startup----leave only the necessaties, see if the problem still exists....You can go to Start---Run----type in "msconfig"
without the quotes... Under the Startup tab uncheck all unneeded
These links will help you out to determine which ones you need
http://www.answersthatwork.com/Tasklist_pages/tasklist.htm
http://www.windowsstartup.com/wso/search.php
There also listed in your 04 entries of your log
This is just for troubleshooting purposes, just trying to narrow it
down

You can leave these checked for sure
ScanRegistry----scanregw.exe
LoadPowerProfile
SysTray.Exe
and I would leave your antivirus running

Stuff like MDM.EXE and Office can more than likely be permanently
disabled on Startup..... If this helps you may find that using a third party app. like Mike Lins Startup control panel or Codestuff's Starter works really well.
When was the last time you opened the back of your computer and blew out the dust bunnies Smiley
You may even want to try a Regcleaner... I can find you a link, let's just narrow it down first

You may also want to do start in Safe Mode and
Scandisk for errors and defrag your drive
Start---Programs----Accessories----System Tools

Hi again Fisher, as I explained before we were just trying to narrow it down..... I like to use msconfig for troubleshooting purposes, I like to use Codestuff's Starter or Mike lin's startup control panel to regulate startup programs...
You could probably try allowing oneprogram at a time to reenable on startup and track down which one is causing the problem...
Once you've narrowed it down you can disable that program permanently
or uninstall it if not required..
You definitely don't need all that running in the background
As I pointed out, you seem to have 2 popup blockers installed on your computer...I've never seen the need to pay for one, so unless you paid for it you may want to uninstall and try the Google Toolbar, I would suggest EMS Freesurfer, but it does use some resources on startup...
The same goes for Spysweeper, if you haven't paid for it, you can probably get rid of it....
Check what other programs you don't need or use. When you've determined everything that is useless on startup, you can go back into
msconfig and do a normal startup and then either control those programs from starting on startup from within the program itself, if you don't have that option then use either of those 2 startup applications I mentioned above... I use Mike lin's startup control panel on my Windows 98SE machine----and Codestuff's Starter on my XP
machine... They both work really good...
I wouldn't mind seeing another Fresh Hijackthis log when your thru, that's up to you, make sure you don't have anything new.
