Error Messages: I can't do java

Hi

For the past few months I have been unable to play any java games or applets.  I do not know why this would happen, and please note that I am a complete PC novice.  Any help you have would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Legendeer

Suggest you read Pancake's post 319 of 341 in topic 2862 (just down the page). Might help with your problem.

You can test your Java at This Site to see if that is indeed the problem.  Another quick test can be done Here.

If it is indeed Java, I don't believe you can get M$'s Java anymore as they lost the lawsuit with Sun and the program is no longer under development nor is it shipped out with IE anymore.  You can pick up a copy of Sun's Java from This Site.  It is free, of course.

Let us know how it goes.

Hi

I'm sorry I took so long to answer, but I've been very busy lately.  Anyway, I tried the first website and it said I'm java enabled but the applet would not display.  Same with the other site.

I tried to download Sun's java once before and when it came to installing it it said that it couldn't be opened or something.

Let's see if this works....

Select Tools > Internet Options
Select the Advanced tab
Locate Microsoft VM
Make sure the Java console enabled and Java logging enabled boxes are checked
Click OK
Restart your computer if you checked the Java console enabled box .
