I can't undestand this...all weekend I have been trying to access www.hp.ca and it just will not work.  This morning I called HP and they say the site is up and running.  I can open all other internet sites.  Why would this one just not work?

Thanks.

Hi Gere,

Your link works just fine for me.  Are you still having this problem?  If so, do a search on your computer for a file named "Hosts" with no file extension (you will have to set folder options to show file extensions for known file types).  It is usually located in: C:\Windows\system32  If you find it there, open it with Notepad and see if there is any reference to your site in there - if so, delete it & save your changes.

You might also check to see if the site somehow got added to your Restricted Sites zone (Start | Settings | Control Panel | Internet Options | Security (tab) | Restricted Sites | Sites (button) )  If it is in there, remove it.

If you have Spybot S & D, open it, go to Tools | Hosts File then click Remove Spybot S & D Hosts List at the top.

If none of this works, just post back and we will try something else.

Thanks to everyone that wrote regarding my being unable to get www.hp.ca to open.  I appreciate each and every suggestion.

Tonight I had a computer technician in to check over my "beast" and he couldn't get the site to open either, so he ran a few programs and he thinks I may have had been infected with Spy Ware.  Once he got rid of it, the hp site opened with no difficulty.  I was having him in anyhow, to help me reinstall my printer, since I had trouble with a driver...so everything is up and running again.  What a nice feeling.

Thanks again for your concern.
