PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version: Windows 2000 Professional
Problem Application Name & Version: IE 6
Problem Hardware Make & Model:
Error Messages: Search: Page(s) not found

We have had a lot of problems with viruses (a hacker took over the computer from my daughter), but seem to have addressed the problem with the ZoneAlarm Pro software.

One problem remains: my Norton Antivirus software cannot complete the LiveUpdate function (error message says it cannot connect to Symantec.com). In addition, when I try to  manually enter in the addresses of known anti-virus sites (i.e. www.symantec.com; www.trendmicro.com etc.)something prevents me from connecting to the page !! I get a search page, saying it cannot find my page. I can, however, see every other page on the Internet, I am just blocked from seeing these.

This "blocking" pre-dates the installation of the ZoneAlarm software.

Please let me know if you know how to solve this problem.

Thanks.

Hi aggietiger,

Welcome to the forum. Grin

This Is A Direct Download (Click Me!)

You should also do a trojan scan to make sure you are free of the trojan you had.  You can get a free trojan scanner called a

Dizzy:

I ran a scan with Panda softwares' online scan, then reset the Internet Options under the Tools tab.  After that, Norton Antivirus connected just fine to Symantec. Seems like we got it solved.  I am, however, going to do the anti-Trojan measures you suggested.  Thanks a ton.
