PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version: win2k
Problem Application Name & Version:NA
Problem Hardware Make & Model: DK
Error Messages: INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE IF THIS IS THE FIRST TIME YOU HAVE SEEN THIS STOP ERROR SCREEN, RESTART YOUR COMPUTER.

Hi all,
I hope someone has some advice!
I have a Dell latitude LS. Win2k. NTFS. (4 years old)
Machine was fine, woke up the following morning and booted up. Partway through the boot sequence, the win2k screen with the blue bar, i found i was sudenly staring at the blue screen of death! reporting the message above. Now i have not installed anything recently and the machine had been operating just fine.

I created a file recovery NTFS disk from bootdisk.com, but the options after booting from the floppy arent that helpful.

Any ideas as to what could cause this? What steps should i undertake to locate the problem? Could it be a bios problem? Could i have a bad sector in the master boot record? Are these likely? Repairable? Should i just buy a new hard drive?

Thanks in advance

Andy
