PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:XP Pro SP1
Problem Application Name & Version:HDD
Problem Hardware Make & Model:Western Digital 160GB
Error Messages:none

I am trying to install a new hard drive (160GB WD)
on the following system:

MOBO: Gigabyte GA-7VAX
Processor: AMD Athlon XP 2500+
RAM: 1GB

I set up and tested this hard drive on my system.  Everything boots fine, but when I put it into the other system, after the Verifying DMI pool data...  All i get is a blank screen.  Windows never boots.

What is going on Help?!?!?!?!?!

Hi BE013,
If you installed winxp on a system & take the hdd & put it in another system, then it won't work. You need to wipe out the hdd & reinstall winxp in the system with the gigabyte mobo.
Take care.

Why is that just to be curious???  It works with every other version of windows ive ever had. Sure it goes crazy for a little while it loads all the new drivers, but... it always works  Is this just an XP thing??

Hi BE013,
>> Is this just an XP thing??<<
Yep.It'll only work with that mobo, cpu, etc as a master. If you set it up with another hdd as a master & this one as a slave, then no problem.
Take care.
