Operating System Version: Win Xp
Problem Application Name & Version: None
Problem Hardware Make & Model: Hitachi 120 gb 7200 rpm
Error Messages:

Hi, I ve installed a new 120 gb HDD as a slave in my system, which is running win xp, i have initialized it and formatted it and it shows up perfectly. I then pertitioned into 4 ; w: 40 gb ntfs , x: 6 gb FAT32 for recovery , y: 38 gb ntfs and z: 38 gb ntfs, where w will be my new c drive ,x my new d drive and y and z will be for storage. anyways, I copied my current d drive to x and my c drive to w overnight, took 5 hrs. But when i booted up the next day, the new drive only shows as being 8.4 gb!! Have I lost 112gb? So i went into bios and it says its 54gb !?!? Even more puzzling, I dont think I need a bios upgrade as the drive was fine before i copied stuff onto it, but now i cant even format or anything as the total size is only 8.4 gb, I have read everything on this site and also microsoft and nothing works, its not the 137 gb prob and theres another prob I found but only applies to win 98 and im running xp, Im lost , can someone with some expertise please throw me a lifeine, thx v much. ( I have also tried the Hitachi webn site, fat lot o good that was:-\)
