Problem Application Name & Version:Windows XP Pro SP1
Problem Hardware Make & Model:-
Error Messages:-



well it goes like this Tongue
in the begining of time i installed the xp and then reinstalled it on a new drive well all is working fine only that i get a msg in the the starting loging into the pc to chose what OS do i want to load
it gives me 2 XP options well i want to cancel the second on or to cansel that menu its waits for a very anoying 30 Sec Tongue

You have managed to get two copies of Windows XP onto your computer! - this is known as dual-booting.
Either live with it (you can reduce the time-out if you want), or delete one of the installs, or reformat the whole lot and start again properly.

Once you've decide which to do, post back for details

thats the thing that i dont have 2 copys of xp Tongue
if i pick the second option it does not work Tongue
ammm i just want to make it go to the first option all the time with out a menu
and if i must have a menu so to put it down to a sec Tongue

Go to Control Panel->System Properties->Advanced Tab->Startup & Recovery section "Settings" button. Click "Edit" button. Edit the contents to look like this:
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect


Then save and OK out. Reboot.
