culveyuk:

This can happen for many reasons, thought it is most likely to happen if:

1. You have several users accessing data on your hard drive at once.

2. They are moving large amounts of data (large files, or lots and lots of small ones)

3. Your hard drive is slow, or is bogged down for some reason. Is it a fast/current hard drive? Do you use disk cleanup and degrament on a regular basis? Do you have lots of disk space left?

4. You are using a very resource-intensive program to play videos.

What program are you using?

Cheers!
