Hi,

AT least once per year, I nuke my primary hdd and re-install everything from the O/S up.  Saturday, I did this again. However, this time Win 98 didn't recognize one of my hdd's, a slave to my primary, namely, drive d (Maxtor 6 GB).  I ran NDD (SystemWorks 2004 DOS version of Norton Disk Doctor). Now, Windows does recognize the drive, however, all of the files are inaccessible, most names are in tact however many are complete gibberish.  I've tried all sort of other utilities, however, after having run the norton utility, the drive is locked to other utilities. If I have to lose the data, life will go on, it will just take weeks to download and/or recreate. It is a FAT32 drive.
Any Suggestions.
Feel free to email me directly at girlfirendsdad@sympatico.ca if you have any suggestions.
Thx, Joe

Hi HB,
If you have an OS on the slave drive,Make that the master & the drive with the problem, make the slave. You should be ablesee & copy those files.Once that's done, then you can fdisk, format, & reinstall windows.
Take care.
