My taskbar is now twice as large, I've tried moving it back down with the pointer, no luck. This seems to be it default size now.  Any idea on how to get it back to normal would be greatly appreciated.

Hi DT,
Right click the taskbar & uncheck "lock the taskbar".move the mouse pointer down to the taskbar til it turns into a double arrow & drag the taskbar down to it's normal size. Then right click the taskbar again & relock it.
Take care.

If this is a recent problem you could try running System Restore. Go to Start->Help and Support->Pick a task-> click the System Restore link and follow the wizard. This will reset your registry back to a previous state when the system was behaving properly.
