dear friend,
i would like to answer you
in the cable you can find 8 different wires as follows
white green ,green, white orange, orange, white blue, blue, white brown and brown.since you want make network with two systems.
you have to arrange you wires as follows
side 1
1.white green ,,3.white orange,,5.white brown ,,7.white brown and 8.brown.
side 2
1.white orange,,3.white green ,,5.white brown ,,7.white brown and 8.brown.

note:- here the first wire interchanged with third one
and second wire interchanged with sixth wire.

i collected these information from a book prescribed for the pepole
who studing for ccna exams.

i hope this will solve your problem

more over , you have to check the other network configuration in network snap-in on control panel. if you are using windows based os
ip address
computer identification
network services
