Running Windows 98, not sure version.
No error codes to mention, but one hell of a problem.
Cannot open new windows in IE 5.Have tried the regsvr.dll as already mentioned in previous postings to no avail.
Existing programs (Photoshop, the one I use the most)refuse to open and just hang.
Generally a very ill P.C.
Any pointers on how to rebuild the registry as I think the problem lies there. Please don't say reinstall the lot.

First off you need to visit Windows Updates and install IE6.0. Open IE, at top in toolbar click on tools. Click Windows Update. IE 6 needs to be installed seperately make sure you read the instructions. After you install your critical updates and patches post back.
