Hi Rusty,
First, would you dowload
AD-Aware 6----it's free
Download----Install-----CHECK FOR UPDATES
We'll run this later
Ad-Aware

Next would you please download CWShredder and save it to your desktop
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/CWShredder.exe

Next:Create a permanent
folder for hijackthis ( this is where your backups will be stored)
EG---- Open MyDocuments----Right click an empty spot and select NEW---Folder----Name the new folder HJT ---this is where you will want to save Hijackthis too and backups will be stored there.
Copy and paste hijackthis  from the desktop to that new folder and
delete the one on the desktop

Set Windows to Show Hidden Files and Folders
 Open My Computer.
    * Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
    * Select the View Tab.
    * Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
    * Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
    * Click Yes to confirm.

Disconnect from the Net

Enter task manager (ctrl-alt-del)
End task on these:
DLLHELP.EXE
CVCHOST.EXE

Do another Scan with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries and then FIX CHECKED when
ALL other windows are closed(including this one)

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://mypoiskovik.com/sp.htm
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://mypoiskovik.com/index.htm
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://mypoiskovik.com/sp.htm
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://mypoiskovik.com/index.htm

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [cvchost] c:\windows\cvchost.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [dllhelp] c:\windows
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [IEengine] C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEengine.exe

O16 - DPF: {56336BCB-3D8A-11D6-A00B-0050DA18DE71} (RdxIE Class) - http://software-dl.real.com/19b79f7819d167146a19/netzip/RdxIE601.cab

Next would you open CWShredder and let it FIX all problems

RESTART your Computer in SAFE MODE

Find and delete these files or folders

c:\windows\cvchost.exe <---the cvchost.exe file
c:\windows\dllhelp.exe <---this file
C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEengine.exe <---this file

The MyWay searchbar is considered spyware---You should next enter
your Add/Remove Programs via Control Panel
Find and Remove any of these Entries if found
'My Search Bar'
'MyWay Speed Bar'
'My Web Search Bar'
'Fun Web Products Easy Installer'

RESTART your computer back in Normal Mode
Don't open a browser yet

Open Ad-Aware and set these options
click the gear wheel at the top and check these options:

General> activate these: "Automatically save log-file" and "Automatically quarantine objects prior to removal"

Scanning > activate these: "Scan within archives", "Scan active processes", "Scan registry", "Deep scan registry", "Scan my IE Favorites for banned sites" and "Scan my Hosts file"

Tweaks > Scanning Engine> activate this: "Unload recognized processes during scanning."

Tweaks > Cleaning Engine: activate these: "Automatically try to unregister objects prior to deletion" and "Let Windows remove files in use after reboot."

Click "Proceed" to save your settings, then click "Start", make sure "Activate in-depth scan" is ticked green then scan your system. When the scan is finished, the screen will tell you if anything has been found, click "Next". The bad files will be listed, right click the pane and click "Select all objects" - this will put a check mark in the box at the side, click "Next" again and click "OK" at the prompt "# objects will be removed. Continue?".

RESTART your computer again
And again don't open a browser, instead Access your Internet Options
via Control Panel
Under the Programs tab---"Reset Web Settings"
Under the General tab ---- Delete files + offline content
and Reset Home page

Post back with a Fresh Hijackthis log and let me know how your doing.

You should also Visit Windows Update and get all Latest Critical Updates including IE service packs

Hi benditup, thanks heaps for your reply/post. I really appreciate the help. Unfortunately I am out of town and wont be able to access my computer for still another week and so wont be able to try what you've suggested until then. Once I do get back and try it out and post my new log, I hope you'll still be willing to help me out. Thanks again for replying to my post.

Looks good Rusty
I like recommending this program---SpywareBlaster
Install----CHECK FOR UPDATES----Enable ALL protection
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

One other entry in your log, it potentially is a Resource hog
Gets installed with every update of Messenger and is unneeded
Fix with Hijackthis

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [LoadQM] loadqm.exe

RESTART in Safe Mode find
C:\WINDOWS\LOADQM.EXE

Rename LOADQM.EXE TO LOADQM.EXE.OLD

After that you look good, except that you still may want to
Visit Windows Update, I run IE6 sp1 on my Windows 98SE machine with
no troubles......
