PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version: Windows XP
Problem Application Name & Version: IE 6.0 & Outlook 2000
Problem Hardware Make & Model:
Error Messages:

My hard drive crashed last week and we have finally transferred the data back to the new hard drive. I have 2 separate problems:
1.  I can not get my FAVORITES to go on the new computer.  I can't figure out where they should be for the computer to read them.

2.  I have all my email and addresses, but can I copy the settings from the previous computer to the new one.  I have templates, signatures and many other settings I don't want to have to replace. Where would I find these settings stored?

Here's some info for your favorites:

The default user shell folders location is in %USERPROFILE% which is "C:\Documents and Settings\user".

If it isn't follow these instructions:

Windows Explorer/Tools/Folder Options/View. Select Show hidden files and folders. Then go to C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Favorites. Right click/unhide.

In the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ShellFolders

I'll post back on the other...unless someone beats me to it!

hi, regarding your OUTLOOK problem all you have to do is search for backup of your .PST file which containd all mails i.e every settings in your last OUTLOOK and import this .PST file in your new installed OUTLOOK.

Thank you both for your replies. Everything worked, except I was going from Office XP to Office 2000 and there are somethings that 2000 doesn't do!

Thanks again.
