Hello,

I have been helping a friend refurbish a PC. I have done all the work on it using my sons monitor etc with no problems. When my friend got the PC back to his place the PC booted up fine showing the Windows 2000 start up screen normally then when it was fully booted the monitor produces horizontal lines with visuals. I ran him through the driver updates and still no luck. The monitor worked fine previously on another system. Can anyone help?

When u connected his pc to your sons monitor did it install the drivers for it?
Did you un-install them from the device manager before installing his?
What graphic card does he have?
Did you update those drivers?
You must uninstall the old drivers first.
You save the the new drivers to a temp folder you can create on your desktop then install from there. When your done delete the folder.

Thanks for the info Cactus. I have now found the problem, I tried the monitor on another system myself and the problem is the faulty monitor. There are smoe pins missing on the connector. Cheers for the help.
