PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:FIC VC11 mobo, P4 1.6 gb, W2KP, 512 Ram

The system is crashed. I tried to repair but apparently the W2K CD is defective. I have another computer to use for downloading. Is there anything I can download to allow me to boot and repair this machine?

Thanks,

Sherm

Does it boot at all?
Can you press F8 and get to DOS Mode?
If you can at the DOS Promt type scanreg/restore
Hit enter a choice a restore point.
See if this helps...

Exactly what happens at Boot?Anything?

Recently had problem with w2kpro, that would not reboot beyond dreaded blue screen. I had been doing a disk defrag and got hung, and then 'puter started doing a memory dump...this was first time i'd seen this happen, and panicked and hit reset button...after that i got dreaded blue screen and was told to run chkdsk /f. For some reason this was not possible and i could find no other solution, so turned  cpu completely off at button on back. Today when i came back to try to find help, i turned it back on and lo and behold it started completely.
You might try this if you've been only 'soft-booting' or using reset button on cpu...W2kpro does an automatic chkdsk at startup, but, only from a complete shutdown, which is not possible from soft boot or reset.
Don't know if this will help you, but, might be worth a shot.

I solved the HD issue and can boot the W2K cd. It tells me the file FTdisk.sys is corrupt. Is there any way to fix this.

Thanks
