Create a permanent folder hijackthis--the desktop is unacceptable
EG---- Open MyDocuments----Right click an empty spot and select NEW---Folder----Name the new folder HJT ---this is where you will want to save Hijackthis too and backups will be stored there.
copy and paste hijackthis from the Desktop to that new folder---delete the one on the desktop

Install Ad-Aware
CHECK FOR UPDATES
Run this later

Download and Save to Desktop CWShredder
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/CWShredder.exe

Disconnect from the NET

Enter your task manager (Ctrl-ALT-DEL)
End process on this

cvchost.exe

Set Windows to show Hidden Files and Folder
* Click Start.
    * Open My Computer.
    * Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
    * Select the View Tab.
    * Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
    * Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
    * Click Yes to confirm.
    * Click OK.

Do another Scan with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries and then FIX CHECKED when
ALL other windows are closed(including this one)

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://mypoiskovik.com/sp.htm
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://mypoiskovik.com/index.htm
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://mypoiskovik.com/index.htm
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://mypoiskovik.com/sp.htm
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://mypoiskovik.com/index.htm

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [cvchost] c:\windows\cvchost.exe

Next with ONLY CWShredder open would you let it FIX all problems

RESTART your Computer in SAFE MODE

Find and delete this file

c:\windows\cvchost.exe <---this file (notice spelling and directory)

Do a Disk Cleanup

RESTART in Normal Mode---stay off the NET
Set Ad-Aware to this---(Ad-aware and Spybot are both great tools)
click the gear wheel at the top and check these options:

General> activate these: "Automatically save log-file" and "Automatically quarantine objects prior to removal"

Scanning > activate these: "Scan within archives", "Scan active processes", "Scan registry", "Deep scan registry", "Scan my IE Favorites for banned sites" and "Scan my Hosts file"

Tweaks > Scanning Engine> activate this: "Unload recognized processes during scanning."

Tweaks > Cleaning Engine: activate these: "Automatically try to unregister objects prior to deletion" and "Let Windows remove files in use after reboot."

Click "Proceed" to save your settings, then click "Start", make sure "Activate in-depth scan" is ticked green then scan your system. When the scan is finished, the screen will tell you if anything has been found, click "Next". The bad files will be listed, right click the pane and click "Select all objects" - this will put a check mark in the box at the side, click "Next" again and click "OK" at the prompt "# objects will be removed. Continue?".

RESTART your computer
access Internet Options via Control
Panel
Under the Programs tab "Reset Web Settings"
Under the General tab---Delete files + offline content---Also Reset home page

Whenever I don't see an Antivirus running on a Computer I usually recommend that you visit Housecall's and do an Online Scan
Set to Autoclean and delete what it can't fix--if you can
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Post back with a FRESH hijackthis log, let us know how your doing

If you need a Free AV let me know in your next post---

oh ya---Welcome to the forum

There is also something else that is wrong. My activeX is not working properly. When I first try to update windows. It tells me that this is so. Then I follow the directions it gave me to fix the problem(which was, delete some stuff in the V4 folder and get rid of some .dll's so it will do a fresh update on the activeX. But then it gives me a message saying that I need to have administrative privlages. So I log on as the administrator and it gives me the same error. And that is where I'm at. Much thanks again, Benditup.
