PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version: celeron 1.7 processor 512 ram 40 gig hd
Problem Application Name & Version: winxp pro 2002 shutdown error
Problem Hardware Make & Model:western digital harddrive 40 gig
Error Messages: shuting down error may cause damage to system etc

Hi,

I read your reply from May and printed it for reference, I thank you for that information.

My problem is kinda like that one but my blue screen said shuting down error may cause damage to system etc.
Its not the hard drive I took out the drive and put in a Western digital and formatted the drive and reinstalled winxp pro, but when I boot up and went online the system is running really slow. And if I shut down and reboot I get the same error msg. then when I restart I get in but still the system is dragging. What the h*** is causing that.

One more thing when I go to run and type in chkdsk/f it says windows can not find make sure you typed the name correctly. did I leave something out. I guess you can tell I don't know much.

Thanking you in advance
