You may have the newest difficult version of about:blank

Before we try another fix could you please
try this first
Download Ad-Aware

Install it ---- CHECK FOR UPDATES
Run this later

Download CWShredder and save it to desktop
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/CWShredder.exe

Set Windows to Show Hidden files and folders
* Click Start.
    * Open My Computer.
    * Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
    * Select the View Tab.
    * Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
    * Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
    * Click Yes to confirm.
    * Click OK.

RESTART your Computer in SAFE MODE

Find and delete this file
C:\WINDOWS\System32\ledoaa.dll <--this file

Also do a Disk Cleanup---ensure that your temp files and temporary internet files are deleted
Empty your recycle bin

Do a Scan with Ad-Aware and set these options
lick the gear wheel at the top and check these options:

General> activate these: "Automatically save log-file" and "Automatically quarantine objects prior to removal"

Scanning > activate these: "Scan within archives", "Scan active processes", "Scan registry", "Deep scan registry", "Scan my IE Favorites for banned sites" and "Scan my Hosts file"

Tweaks > Scanning Engine> activate this: "Unload recognized processes during scanning."

Tweaks > Cleaning Engine: activate these: "Automatically try to unregister objects prior to deletion" and "Let Windows remove files in use after reboot."

Click "Proceed" to save your settings, then click "Start", make sure "Activate in-depth scan" is ticked green then scan your system. When the scan is finished, the screen will tell you if anything has been found, click "Next". The bad files will be listed, right click the pane and click "Select all objects" - this will put a check mark in the box at the side, click "Next" again and click "OK" at the prompt "# objects will be removed. Continue?".

Still in safe mode
Do another Scan with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries and then FIX CHECKED when ALL other windows are closed

Next--still in safe mode
Open CWShredder and let it FIX all problems

RESTART your computer in Normal mode
Don't open a browser yet, instead access Internet Options via Control
Panel
Under the Programs tab "Reset Web Settings"
Under the General tab---Delete files + offline content---Also Reset home page

Post back with a Fresh hijackthis log

Let's try some more cleaning weuttel

Can you set windows to Show Hidden files and folders
* Click Start.
    * Open My Computer.
    * Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
    * Select the View Tab.
    * Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
    * Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
    * Click Yes to confirm.
    * Click OK.

Navigate to this file---
C:\WINDOWS\System32\xqbxkt.exe
I can find no info on it
Right click on it---properties---version---
Do you know what it is related too?
If not can you submit it to Kapersky's
Simply browse to it----select it---submit it
http://www.kaspersky.com/scanforvirus

RESTART your Computer in SAFE MODE

Find and delete these files or folders if found

C:\Windows\System32\wsaupdater.exe <---this file
C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\bridge.dll <---this file
C:\WINDOWS\System32\xqbxkt.exe <---this file if unknown or bad

Still in safe mode
Do another Scan with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries and then FIX CHECKED when ALL other windows are closed

F2 - REG:system.ini: UserInit=C:\Windows\System32\wsaupdater.exe,

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {765BACE7-168D-4C9F-9521-32990BA39A79} - c:\windows\system32\pieap.dll (file missing)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [RunDLL] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\bridge.dll",Load
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [mggitv] C:\WINDOWS\System32\xqbxkt.exe

Restart your computer in Normal mode and post back with a Fresh hijackthis log, let me know how everything is going and what page
your home page is being directed too....

I see problems in your pv log
Can you do me a favor
 Download and install Registrar Lite.
http://www.resplendence.com/reglite
Install, run, copy and paste this line to reglite's address bar:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\\AppInit_DLLs

and hit the "go" tab. Find: "Appinit_Dlls" value on the right side panel, DoubleClick, copy and post here the information in the 'Value' field.

Post back with a fresh hijackthis log, don't try and fix anything yet

I think you misunderstood me
Put that bolded line back in Reglite
in the address bar
Double click on Appinit_DLLs

In the new box that opens up copy and paste what is in the
VALUE box at the bottom of the new page

Follow these instructions closely

Use the Registrar Lite program again. Copy and paste the key below into reglite's address bar and hit 'Go':

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows

Right-click on the Windows key in the left pane and rename it to NotWindows
(the folder is highlighted as a purple folder in the left hand pane of reglite)

DoubleClick "Appinit_Dlls" value on right pane and erase the data in the 'Value' box at the the bottom of the new pane. The data to remove will be:

"C:\WINDOWS\System32\comdnm.dll", hit 'Apply' and 'Ok' to set.

Rename 'NotWindows' back to 'Windows' in the left pane, close Registrar Lite and REBOOT the computer. If all goes well the hidden process will not run at startup and you should now be able to find and *see* the comdnm.dll in C:\WINDOWS\System32. Don't try and delete it

Using Explorer go to your root drive: C:\ and create new folder, name it: 'Junk'

Unzip and run Winfile
http://www10.brinkster.com/expl0iter/freeatlast/WINFILE.zip

Open it up, click File>Move...

Copy and paste this into the 'From' box: C:\WINDOWS\System32\comdnm.dll

Copy and paste this into the 'To' box: C:\Junk\comdnm.dll

Hit OK. Close Winfile and check in C:\Junk for that file - let me know what's there

If it's there---run CWShredder
With only CWShredder open let it FIX all problems
Also run Ad-Aware again as noted above

RESTART and post back with a Fresh hijackthis log
Unfortunately I'm leaving for a week, I will try and check in
for final cleanup instructions Smiley

Hi again weuttel, This is the old fix for about:blank
but you seem to have nabbed it Smiley

 Let's try some final cleanup
Go ahead and try and delete the file in the junk folder or delete
the whole junk folder itself
If you can't delete it
You can use Winfile to set the permissions on that file
to you the Administrator---Full Control
Or try rebooting into safe mode

Do a Disk Cleanup

Do another Scan with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries and then FIX CHECKED when ALL other windows are closed

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,HomeOldSP = about:blank

Ensure your version of CWShredder is up to date
Let it FIX all problems and RESTART your computer

Don't open a browser yet, instead access Internet Options via Control
Panel
Under the Programs tab "Reset Web Settings"
Under the General Tab Reset home page

Make sure that Ad-Aware is updated
Do another Scan
RESTART your computer

Post back one final hijackthis log and let me know how things are going
