PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version: XP PRO
Problem Application Name & Version:
Problem Hardware Make & Model:
Error Messages:

Ok.  I have been working on this for a few days now and give up.  I have 4 computers, all running XP PRO, linksys 4 port router, broadband, norton antivirus pro, norton internet security pro.  I have a home network using workgroup.  I have had them working fine until recently.  Now 3 computers are networking fine but mine is not.  2 of them show all of their shared folders in "My Network Places" but the 3rd one only shows some shared folders but not all of them.  I have checked to make sure and the folders were and are still marked for sharing.  I can view the folders that aren't showing up in "My Network Places" by opening entire network and opening that computer.  The other computers cannot view my shared folders and when I am viewing "My Network Places" I can't view my shared folders either which I usually can.  The other computers can view their shared folders in "My Network Places".  It seems to be with my pc only.  I ran some Windows network diagnostics and it said it looked like I may have the same name as another on the network.  I also re-installed the nortons programs the other day but I'm not sure if it was doing this before that or not.  I've checked all of the settings on the nortons and they seem to all be fine.  I tried to read through everything on this site  that looked like it could help me but couldn't find anything that I understood plus I'm not sure where the problem is.

Any ideas?

The Router has a built in Firewall...I run a D-Link 4-Port Router and had to DISABLE the Firewalls on the PC's.

I would un-install the Norton Internet Security as the Router has a Firewall...they will conflict with each other.

Cactus,  I am just guessing the nortons isn't the problem because the other pc's are running the same and it has worked in the past.  The computers are networking fine and I can view their folders and also I can print on a networked printer hooked to one of the other pc's.  It seems there must be some configuration on my pc that is the problem.  Is there a way to view network member names and delete or modify?  Thanks for the reply

Ok.  I have pretty much narrowed it down to the network is working, I can see all of the shared folders on the other pc's and they can see each other but nobody can see my shared folders.  My shared folders show on the network but it wont let any access.  I think I have checked all of the obvious.  Any suggestions?
Thanks

If your sure all settings are correct on your pc...file share enabled...
Try resetting your Network name...HOME or whatever you choose and your password on that pc...Highlight the old and delete first, then retype.
