I have windows xp and have been using my dvd burner for about 6 months.  I recently used my dvd burner to burn a cd using roxio 6.  After using this i went to use my normal software dvd shrink and it did not recognize the drive.  I tried to see the media using windows explorer and it did not see the disk in the drive either.  I went to my system hardware devices and it sees the drive and claims it is working properly.  The only way I was able to get it to work, was to go to system information and click on cdrom drives it gave detailed info on my drive and the media in the drive.  I then went back to shrink and it recognized it.  Unfortunately, I have to do this everytime I want to use the drive.

Any help would be appreciated.
