PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:Win 98
Problem Application Name & Version:Win98
Problem Hardware Make & Model:old pc
Error Messages:

Hi,

My old pc has started having serious problems.
It has had various problems over the last twelve months, most of which have been solved with the help of this forum (thanks)
However last night, it decided to lose the start menu, when I selct it no menu structure appears, if I right click it, it allows me to find from the menu.
The taskbar is completely black although my sys tray is visible.
When I open a folder, it does not show any toolbars, or give me the top menu (file, edit, view etc)
If I open a program from the desktop, it appears to work albeit slowly.
If I try to connect to the internet, I get explorer errors, they are not giving me an error code, it just says, Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and will now close.
I have tried to reboot in Safe Mode and it does not let me, it only allows me to operate (kind of) in normal.
Is there any help for this prehistoric PC, or do I need to send it to pc heaven?
