PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version: Win 98
Problem Application Name & Version:
Problem Hardware Make & Model:
Error Messages: A required .dll file, C:\windows\system\comctl32.dll, was not found.

This started when I took OE off my computer because I was having major problems with the mail and it giving me errors.  Once I got OE off, my computer shut down.  I turned it back on and got the above error message.  I hit ok on the little boxes and then this message came up: error loading explorer.exe you must reinstall windows.  I tried putting the win 98 disk in and it did nothing and shut down on me.  I found a 98 boot disk and was able to install win 98, then I did a restart and just as my wallpaper came up, I got the comctl32.dll was not found and everything starts all over.  I have no icons on my computer desk top, I cannot even get that close.  I think I have tried everything out there, so any advice is much appreciated!!!

here is the file, put it in the windows/system directory and reboot. if it does ask you if you want to replace, do so.
