PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:XP pro
Problem Application Name & Version:
Problem Hardware Make & Model:MSI motherboard and 1.2 GHz AMD procesor
Error Messages:No IDE device detected

I just installed a sound card and had to pull the mother board off to get to the CD in  cable to hook up to the card.  I then returned everything to the original configuration, I even marked the cables so I would rememebr where they went.  Now when I boot I get No IDE devices detected.

Check that the IDE cables and power connectors are in correctly, I know it sounds stupid but it's a easy mistake and many people make it.

hi make sure the jumper settings are correct as one may have been knocked out when you moved it.
