PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version: Windows 98

This computer isn't having particular symptoms, but ad-aware took a lot of stuff off and weatherbug has been here, so I'd just appreciate someone looking through the hijackthis log and seeing if there is any cleanup to do that will improve performance.

Thanks!

Nothing too bad in this one axaday,
Just some optional fixes, things you don't need on startup

RealPlayer's update.
# Open the realplayer
# Choose Tools #8594; Preferences
# Category #8594; Automatic Services #8594; Message Center
# Press "Configure Message Center..."
# Remove selection of "Checking" #8594; Check for new messages
# confirm the warning

Next:
Do another Scan with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries
and then FIX CHECKED when ALL other windows are closed

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\QTTASK.EXE" -atboottime

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [LoadQM] loadqm.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot

These next ones should go, for sure

Ok, I did all of that.  ICQ is freezing on startup now.  Perhaps it was using an infested file?

I'll reinstall ICQ after a while.

That is strange, nothing we altered should have any effect on ICQ

Possibly something removed by ad-aware......You could try and restore
the backups made by hijackthis and restart your computer
and see what happens, but like I said, none of it should have an effect

Open hijackthis----Config---Misc Tools--backups
But I wouldn't restore the weatherbug activex installers

I fixed ICQ by reinstalling.  Everything seems good.
