You can also sell the PC and get an XBox. Wink

Look, an *.inf file is either an info file or a Windows installation file. It's not a shortcut to any game or application. Links in Windows come with the *.lnk extension (bit clue there).

Reformatting and reinstalling Windows will therefore not help you.
Checking in your Recycle Bin for the deleted file will help you more on your way. Restoring the file from there is way easier.

Any shortcuts in your StartUp folder under Windows will autostart the application that is being linked to. I doubt you want to autostart a game upon starting Windows. Then again, maybe you do. But why not just find that game on your harddrive then and rightclick on its *.exe file and copy & paste a shortcut back in your StartUp folder?

If you haven't played around with Windows this long yet, just admit it. I can talk as layman's as you want me to, but I do need to know what we are talking about then.

If you are talking about Freecell, Patience, Minesweeper and Pinball then reinstalling Windows is a very long way around... Especially since those games will still be on the harddrive.

%SystemRoot%\System32\freecell.exe
%SystemRoot%\System32\winmine.exe
"C:\Program Files\Windows NT\Pinball\PINBALL.EXE"
%SystemRoot%\System32\sol.exe

%SystemRoot% will most probably be C:\Windows

Okay, sorry I sounded a bit harsh at my post above, but it was way late (or early, depends on what you think of 4.30am local time Wink) and your previous post wasn't too helpful.

Are the games I pointed to the ones you wanted?
Are they still living on your harddrive? Open up Windows Explorer, then copy & paste the links I gave above into the address bar and hit Enter. If the games start up, they are still there. Smiley

If these aren't the games you were looking for, then please tell me which games you meant. I can't help you much without information, for I need to hack into your webcam to see what you mean (just kidding Grin), or else renew the batteries for my crystal orb.
