ALok, It depends what you want to do. In my personal opinion, I think redhat is better as a server, but Suse is better as a desktop.

Based on 6 years of Linux use; 4 years of using Linux exclusivly, my considered opinion is almost any Debian-based distro is a good choice, simply because of the Debian package management system (apt/dpkg).  I'm currently using Libranet 2.8.1 on my desktop, my server, and on one laptop; no problems, easy install, very responsive.

My favorite Linux distribution is RED HAT. Red Hat Cloud Quick start provide relationship with the awareness, elevated support and knowledge transfer to rapidly build, manage and optimize a cloud resolution tailored to a customer

There are many, many Linux distributions, and a lot of unique reasons to like them. Here are some Linux distributions................

The best distro for beginners: Ubuntu 10.04
The best distro for experts: Fedora 13
The best distro for Windows Migrants: PCLinuxOS
The best distro for older Hardware: Puppy Linux 5.0
The best distro for your desktop: Linux Mint 9
