Operating System Version: XP Home  Edition Version 2002 SP1
Problem Application Name & Version: IE6 Service Pack 1
Problem Hardware Make & Model: Toshiba Satellite 2.80Ghz
Error Messages: Can Not Find Server

I am using a dial up away from home. I am using AOL 9.0 Optimize as my dial connection, I minimixe it in the back ground but want to use IE6 as my browser. If I log on with AOL, the AOL browser does work. I took my laptop to an office with LAN and downloaded and reloaded IE6. IE6 works when I am hooked up to the LAN connection but can not find pages when using dialup through AOL.  It seems that there is some sort of interface missing.

This scenario did work earlier in the week. I picked up a couple of viruses and per mytechsupport, I ran HiJackthis and CWShredder. That worked great and finally got rid of a very difficult dialer trojan.

I have tried using proxy settings and no proxy settings, it made no difference either way.

Did something get deleted that shouldn't have from the virus clean?
I have been reading other articles and I am wondering about Java Script programs. Do I need those?

Please let me know if you have any ideas or what info I can provide to you.

Thanks in advance,
Terry W.

What can I check?
