PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:xp
Problem Application Name & Version:
Problem Hardware Make & Model:hard drive
Error Messages:media test failed


am trying to put a hard drive into a second computer and get this message as above:(

Did you connect the IDE cable in the correct way? The red stripe on the flatcable should point to the power connector on the drive and to pin 1 on the motherboard connector.

Try another IDE flatcable.

Also try another power cable/connector.

Did you detect the drive in the BIOS?
