i use windows XP and whenever i run a game, of any size including games that you would not expect the computer would have any trouble running due to its simplicity the computer freezes. It shows the CPU usage at 100%, any ides how to fix this?

You may be having an overheating issue. Open the case and take some canned air and clean out the dust bunnies. Also make sure the fans are all spinning. You can even clean the dust out of the fans.
