PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:Windows XP SP2
Problem Application Name & Version:IE6
Problem Hardware Make & Model:
Error Messages:res://shdoclc.dll/dnserror.htm

Hi I get this error msg when I search on IE6.  Also I found once I start getting this error I cant run MSN Messenger or any other Internet Program.  I have run Adaware and it cleaned my system but I'm still getting that problem.  What do I need to get and do?  Is it an issue with SP2?  The SP2 Firewall and stuff is off. PLZ help since I cant connect at home I am doing this from work.

Hi I was told to remove all my startup files on msconfig.  That seems to have fixed the prob but what can I do to prevent this happening again?

Re: res://shdoclc.dll/dnserror.htm

Recently downloaded SP2?

This solved my problem;

Do you work on a netwerk with a router?
If yes, check the following:

On your computer desk right click; my network places, go to properties.
Right click: my homenetwork (or something like that) and properties again.
On the first tab (general) click on; Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) click properties and check if you selected: "Obtain an IP adress automatically" and "Obtain DNS server adress automatically".
Click O.K.

If you work with a router that should do it.Wink

I know it sounds silly and to simple but this solved my problem.
