I have recently started getting mail that says it cannot be delivered for some unknown reason and it tells me that it cannot open the file as it is dangerous. the funny thing is the people that it cannot be delivered are not on my mailing list and i do not even know who they are...Any help would be very much appreciated.

Would you please download Hijackthis
---Important---Create a permanent folder
EG---- Open MyDocuments----Right click an empty spot and select NEW---Folder----Name the new folder HJT ---this is where you will want to save Hijackthis too, also, backups will be stored there.
Download from here

http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.exe

Do a SCAN----Scan will change to SAVE LOG----copy and paste the WHOLE contents of the log
here... Don't try and fix anything yet----most entries are harmless and needed.

Just delete those return emails in hotmail. They weren't sent by you but most probably by someone who is infected with a (mass emailing) worm or virus who has your email address in their addressbook.

There's nothing wrong with your PC either, since you need to log in to hotmail before you can send emails from there. I haven't heard of a virus yet that does that for you. And even if you would be sending out mass emails with viruses attached, you'd be losing your hotmail account pretty damn quick.
