is it possible to wipe windows 98 of my  my dell desk top computer and upgrade it with windows xp  and if so how do i do it . not a computer expert here  ,, would be very glad of some advise on this  thank you

All you have to do is put in the XP disc and it will do it for you.All you need to do is choose "upgrade" if you wish to keep all your files or choose "new install" and it will clean off your drive of all the files and programs and install a clean copy of XP...this is the best option as there is no carry over of rubbish.You will of course have to reinstall all your programs.Just one more thing,you will need a minimum of 256mb of ram to get it working properly.
