PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:XP
Problem Application Name & Version:XP
Problem Hardware Make & Model:XP
Error Messages:'Isass wont load 'error

I finally got my mother board to work again, by using advise on another string. But then I started getting the message 'Isass' wont load error. The bios seams to set up Ok, then windows starts to load, then I get the error message. It only gives me the option to click OK, but that just restarts the pc. I don't mind if I have to format C, but I'm stuck in this cycle.
Please advise me what I'm doing wrong.
Thanks Nick

Are you sure it says Isass ... not lsass? Isass.exe/.dll is a virus, whereas lsass (Lsass) is the Local Security Authority Service needed for Windows to boot with.

Is this the same motherboard & PC as in your other thread, or is this something else? Because in that one, you still used Windows 98.

Yes its the same one. When I first got it going again I had realised we had no software discs, for what was on it. So I formatted C. The pc is just about big enough to take XP, so I installed it successfully, at first. But it seems to have slowly collapsed like a house of cards. Now I'm stuck in this cycle. Its hard to say whether it's Isass or Lsass. It just says Isass.exe not found. The only option is to click OK. This re-boots, then same again. It gets to where XP is nearly loaded before the error comes on.
How do I start a fresh.
thanks Nick

Were you online already on that system? For if you were, there's a 90% chance you got a worm in.

So you'll have to whip out the XP CD again and do a new install of Windows. Forego all the R(epair) options and just tell it to install Windows over the previous partition, same folder it went into the last time around.
Use http://www.webtree.ca/windowsxp/clean_install.htm if you want to have a guideline.
