When using windows XP. If your icons, windows and taskbar suddenly dissappear, usually after system instability when having too many programs open for your pc to handle, loading too much at once, contracting a virus, dialler or spyware item from the internet...etc

1) hold ctrl alt + del to bring up task manager
2) Click "New Task" under the "Applications" tab
3) Type in the box C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe and press enter

Your desktop, icons, windows and system tray will all load up again as normal so you can continue with your work Smiley
