here is my problem.  i downloaded a program from download.com --i have never gotten an infected file from them before-- and it loaded me with spyware ****.  i have cleaned out most of it however when the computer is just sitting there i get ie pop-ups nothing running at all me doing nothing, and *poof* a pop-up.

i use firefox exclusively.  i have never used ie except to go to windows update.  i have ad-aware and spybot and neither of them find anyting.

here is my hijack logfile.

I don't see anything in your log that would cause this
Are you saying that even with IE closed you get popups?

Try this
Go to START===RUN===type in services.msc
and then hit Enter

In the new Services window
Look for these 2 services in the Right Pane
Alerter and Messenger
For each one double click on the service
Stop the service and set it to Disabled from Automatic
in the drop down menu

Besides that you look clean

also if i try to end proccess mdm.exe it tells me that "operation cannot be completed" and "access is denied"
