PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version: XP SP1
Problem Application Name & Version: IE 6
Problem Hardware Make & Model: Dell 2400
Error Messages:

I have NAV 2003, Zerospyware and Zeroads installed. I had just installed Netnanny 5.0 due to some p*rn pop-up problems on this computer. The main users are my daughters.

The NN install went fine and it appeared to be blocking sites, etc. In order to do the NN install I was told to turn off anti-virus & spyware blockers. I did that, installed and started them back up.

Zerospyware said it had updates so I downloaded them, installed, ran a system scan and it said system was clean.

I reboot the system and all hell breaks loose.

During Windows startup, I get popups telling me that 'sporder.dll' can't be found and that there's a problem with the 'LSP provider and fbm.dll' can't be found.

Based on what I see on this site, it appears I've been hijacked.

I ran cwshredder in safe mode since that seems to be a common suggestion. Nothing was found.

I run a freeware problem called A2 that seems to find some malware that my other stuff misses. It came up with nothing.

I'm including a hijackthis log. I just reformated this machine and reinstalled XP from ground up with Dell support. Reinstall NAV, zerospyware, zeroads all while disconnected from internet. I'm been running daily checks and it stayed clean until today.

Run HJT and fix the following:

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/ie/defaults/stp/ymsgr6/*http://www.yahoo.com
O9 - Extra button: Yahoo! Messenger - {E5D12C4E-7B4F-11D3-B5C9-0050045C3C96} - C:\PROGRA~1\Yahoo!\MESSEN~1\YPager.exe (file missing)

O10 - Broken Internet access because of LSP provider 'fbm.dll' missing

Reboot and post a new log

To keep your computer free of spyware I would reccomend using

AD-AWARE

Go here: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/
and download Ad-Aware SE Personal

SPYBOT SEARCH & DESTROY

Getting an error from NAV about not being able to scan email message due to network not being configured properly. Don't know if this is valid, a result of the problem or another manifestation of the hijack.

Also, I invoke IE a URL flashes by too fast for me to read. Leaving the cursor in the window caused the following to display:

"downloading from site res://c:\windows\system32\shdock.dll/dnserror.htm"

Can't find the file on my system so I suspect it's diverting IE from my homepage and displaying this 'dnserror.htm'

But I can't ping anything from the CMD interface either.

HJT gave a msg that it couldn't fix the LSP problem but to download from www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm. I can't get to internet yet but could download on another machine and copy it if needed.

Appreciate the help.

Ok, did that and it worked. I can access the internet again.

So far so good.

Reinstalled zerospyware which seemed to work, at least for a while.
Tried to reinstall zeroads which I couldn't get to work. Getting an valid FSC command window popping up.

After that, the LSP problem reappeared so I reran it I killed a couple of new lines that occured in HJT.

Download Adaware which found some cookies but that's about it.

First I would get rid of zeroads. You can read a review of it here http://www.netmag.co.uk/reviews/default.asp?pagetypeid=2&articleid=29591&subsectionid=497&subsubsectionid=168.I don't know about zerospyware as I only use adare and spybot.Uninstall zeroads and post a new log and we'll go from there

Do not delete anything in HJT until we can analyze your log. Some entries are essential

Sorry for not being clear in last msg.

Both zeroads and zerospyware were uninstalled before I ran HJT.

Appreciate the info on zeroads.
