PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:Windows 98 SE
Problem Application Name & Version:
Problem Hardware Make & Model:
Error Messages:

The only way to turn my computer off is by pulling the plug. I have an HP Pavilion 6540C. After I shut down from windows everything seems normal except that the orange light stays on and so does the cpu. I can hear it running. The only way to stop it is to cut the power. But as soon as I give it power again the cpu starts up again. It still boots up when I press the power button. Is this a BIOS, CMOS, Power supply, or a motherboard problem. Someone please help, I'm totally stumped. It runs perfectly fine other than the fact that it doesn't turn off all the way after windows shut off.
