If I buy a modem and router all in one - will I be able to share one printer. Would the printer be available to either pc and what happens if the pc the printer is connected to is turned off. Can you connect a printer directly to a router if it has a usb port?
Sorry if this is a bit of a stupid question but we all have to start somewhere. I would like to know so as I buy the right modem+router

I think you'll need to leave the PC on that connects to the printer, or else get a printer with a networking option that would itself connect to the router.

You can also buy printer sharers.
