Hi,
My OS is XP Home.My problem is that when I start to connect to the internet I get this window as follows: The window title is --ndis.exe-Bad IMage--- The message in the window says:  The Application or DLL C:\DOCUME~1\JOHNDO~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\vfa1.tmp is not a valid windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette. Now I have deleted all my programs & am down to the bare bones windows with all upgrades excluding windows service pak 2.My DSL server is Verizon. Is there any way to get rid of this pesky thing w/o reinstalling windows?Any help with this would be highly accepted & appreciated.

Hi john,
Even if you have AV software, could you please do an Online virus scan

Housecall's---Set to Autoclean
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

and/or

Panda's
http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/com/activescan_principal.htm

Let them fix whatever they find

After this is done
Could you please download the latest version of Hijackthis from HERE

Unzip it to a Permanent folder
Eg. C:\Hijackthis\hijackthis.exe
Do a SCAN---Scan will change to SAVE LOG
Copy and paste the WHOLE contents of the log here.
Don't try and fix anything, it is all important

Once your log is posted, I will move this thread to the Security and Viruses forum, just so you know it is not deleted
