Not sure what spyware programs you have installed, but I want to ensure you have the latest version of Ad-Aware

Download and Install the free version of Ad-Aware
After installation-CHECK FOR UPDATES
Don't run it yet

Instead----Download the VX2 Cleaner for Ad-Aware
Save it to desktop and double click to install
Don't run it yet

Open Notepad (START>>>RUN>>>type in notepad) hit Enter
Copy the contents of the Quote box to notepad
Name the file as fix.reg
Change the Save as Type to All Files.
Save this file on the desktop, well need this later, don't run it yet

quote:
REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Extensions\{FB74C951-ACA1-4e33-A94C-A9261EB2CCB7}]

RESTART your computer into SAFE MODE

Find and delete these files or folders if they exist
C:\WINDOWS\wpwaby.exe <--this file
C:\PROGRAM FILES\SED <--this folder
hkhgiy.exe <--do a search for this file

Stay in safe mode
Do another Scan with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries
and then FIX CHECKED when ALL other windows are closed

Hello,

Thank you so much for your quick response and detailed instructions, you are awesome, it seems to be working.  The 1st time I ran the VX2 it found 3 infections.  The second time, it said it was clean.  I now have icons on the bottom of my screen next to the START button, do you know how I get rid of them?  I will definitley be making a donation.  Here is my new hijackthis log:  Thanks again:)Lori
