Hi brisi,
Would you please download Hijackthis---Important---Create a permanent folder for hijackthis
EG---- Open MyDocuments----Right click an empty spot and select NEW---Folder----Name the new folder HJT
OR create a folder as C:\HJT---this is where you will want to save Hijackthis too, also, backups will be stored there.
download from
HERE or HERE

Do a SCAN----Scan will change to SAVE LOG----copy and paste the WHOLE contents of the log
here... Don't try and fix anything yet----It is all important

Once your log is posted I'm going to send this post to the Securiy and Viruses forum

thanks,
thank you for the info!! my brother helped me with this issue and has found a program call SpySweep that correct my problem.  I no longer get thoose pop-ups on my desk top nor in my favorits file!!!    It seems to have been a search assistant called (search assistant- my way) that was causing the pop-ups.  My question to you is,  In my add/remove program there still show SEARCH ASSISTANT- MYWAY there but when i try to remove it, I get an error message "errorlaoding: c:\progra-i\myway\searchat\1bin\mwssrcas.dll" what does that mean? is it still installed? or is it uninstalled?  how can i remove it for there or does it really matter since Spysweep has found it and removed it.    please advise and thanks again!!!
