Operating System Version: XP
Problem Application Name & Version:
Problem Hardware Make & Model: Emachines
Error Messages:
Hello, about 1 day ago I downloaded the Microsoft Server Pack 2 and have been having many problems since.

My latest problem is when I start up my desktop computer I get the Windows XP Home Edition black page and then the computer restarts within about 10-15 seconds. I do not get an error message. I have tried hitting F8 to go into safe mode but the same thing occurs if I start the computer in safe mode.

Any help would be appreciated.

Boot with the Windows XP CD and run a repair install that will take SP2 off your system and make it bootable again.

If you really want to use SP2, the best way to do it is to wipe your system clean, install Windows on it, immediately put SP2 on it, then continue with installing all the necessary drivers, directX, games etc. etc.
