I see you have Spybot installed, good choice

Could you also
Download and Install the free version of Ad-Aware SE Personal 1.05
Ensure you have this version or later
If you don't have this verision, uninstall yours and install this one
After installation-CHECK FOR UPDATES
Do a Full system scan----Remove All Critical objects
RESTART your computer to finish the cleaning process

After Restart---Could you open Spybot
Ensure your running version 1.3
If your not Sure click on HELP>>ABOUT
If your running an older version uninstall it from Add/Remove Programs
Download and Install Spybot S&D 1.3
After installation--SEARCH FOR UPDATES
Download All updates
Check for Problems---FIX everything in RED
If you have 1.3 already installed can you please search for updates
and do a scan

RESTART your computer again

Post back with a fresh hijackthis log afterwards

thanks for your response.

i have Ad-aware version 6 installed... will this be ok?

On this computer i suspect family members may have items in their logons... how do i do a FULL user profile scan aswell? is this what happens in safe mode?

please let me know your thoughts on the adaware version and i will then install and run another log.

thanks

I prefer that you uninstall your version from Add/Remove programs
and install the latest free version of Ad-Aware and perform a full system scan on your computer for the first time---Restart your computer after you have removed Critical objects

And I also would like you to open up Spybot
Click HELP>>>ABOUT
Let me know Spybot version number
also let me know Latest Update Detection date

excellent... it seems the adaware version you asked me to download has now included ALL users settings folders. good good. Ran the newer adaware and 250 items found (including TWAINTEC which i have read as being a cause of offeroptimizer popups), currently removed but have been quarantined does this matter?
Ran my SB 1.3 and found 5 DSO exploits... fixed these. rebooted again and the latest hijack this is as follows:-

Benditup, i appreciate your assistance on this. Can you advise me...in your experience is it suitable to just have adaware and spybot installed? are these the best? and should i always run adaware first and then spybot?
