Hi,

Any help anyone can give regarding removing the following would be greatly appreciated.
 http://ads1.revenue.net/
 yyy11.html
 registry cleaner popup

I get a new Internet Explorer (IE) window opening every 30 miutes or so with one of the sites.  I have run Ad-aware to no effect.  Because I added the sites to the IE blacklist, the actual windows are blank.  This problem only occurs in IE, not in Netscape 7.02 (my primary browser).

THANKS !!!

Here is the Hijack This log:

Just checking, is that your whole log, from top to bottom?

Could you also open Ad-Aware>>>Click on Details---Let me know Reference Number and Internal build

This entry here
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Create A Monster] "C:\Program Files\Kudd.com\createAMonster.exe" -run
I assume you don't know what it is?
I've seen it related to these popups, did you try the Bogus Spyware Removers that they try and influence you to run when you get a popup?
I don't mean Ad-Aware

Can you also visit Subratams
Download and save to desktop VX2.BetterInternet Finder XP/2k, but could you download the one below it labelled
 (ii) Version Msg126
After you have it saved, open it up
"Click to Find VX2.Betterinternet"
Press "Make a log"
Copy and paste the whole log back here

Could you also post a fresh hijackthis log

Let me know the info from Ad-Aware

Thanks for your help.  Here is the reqested info!

I thought it was the whole log file.

Ad-aware SE build 1.05

Build a monster appeared on my screen yesterday.  I didn't run any of the stuff (registry scanners, etc) being pushed by the popups.

Since I first posted, I also ran Spybot, and it fixed some things.

Let's do some cleaning, can you please print or save this to a notepad file on desktop for easy access, Read how to Start in safe mode--do so when required, and I will need you to stay offline

Set Windows to Show Hidden Files and Folders

Sign off and stay off the internet until the entire procedure is complete. Shut down all windows, including this one

Open VX2Finder and click on the *click to find VX2.BetterInternet* button.

Then select the *Delete these files* button.
You will be left with notice about one to be deleted on reboot.
Let it Reboot or
Reboot your computer

Once back in Windows

Open VX2Finder again and click on these buttons in the right pane:
user agent$, Guardian.reg, restore policy

Exit VX2 finder

Open Hijackthis>>>Config>>Misc Tools>>>Open Process Manager
Kill these processes if found
C:\Shareaza\Shareaza.exe <--we're just disabling on startup, but not a recommended program
C:\Program Files\SED\SED.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\Tom\Application Data\subw.exe

Access your Add/Remove Programs and Remove if found
SurfSideKick

Do another Scan with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries
and then FIX CHECKED when ALL other windows are closed

R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {CA0E28FA-1AFD-4C21-A8DC-70EB5BE2F076} - C:\Program Files\SurfSideKick 2\SskBho.dll

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Create A Monster] "C:\Program Files\Kudd.com\createAMonster.exe" -run
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SurfSideKick 2] C:\Program Files\SurfSideKick 2\Ssk.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SESync] "C:\Program Files\SED\SED.exe"
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Shareaza] "C:\Shareaza\Shareaza.exe" -tray
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Ooac] C:\Documents and Settings\Tom\Application Data\subw.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Voa] C:\WINDOWS\system32\m?iexec.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [SurfSideKick 2] C:\Program Files\SurfSideKick 2\Ssk.exe

RESTART your Computer in SAFE MODE

Find and delete these files or folders if they exist
C:\Documents and Settings\Tom\Application Data\subw.exe <--this file
C:\WINDOWS\system32\m?iexec.exe <--file, exact spelling, DON'T delete anything because it looks similiar

C:\Program Files\Kudd.com <--folder
C:\Program Files\SurfSideKick <--folder
C:\Program Files\SED <--folder

Restart back into Normal Mode

Run Vx2Finder once more and click on the *click to find VX2.BetterInternet* button. Then click *make log*.

Post back that log along with a fresh hijackthis log in normal mode

Edit--I wasn't sure if you were posting the whole log, more often than
not a log won't end at the 09 entries
If your unsure, when posting
In notepad click Edit>>Select All
Use the CTRL+C keys to copy the whole notepad file
and the CTRL+V keys to paste it back here
