I have the same problems with XP SP2:  Ctrl-Alt-Del does not bring up the Windows Security screen, it either does nothing or it opens Task Manager which immediately closes, Rededit starts but immediately closes.

Have installed all current updates for Windows XP and Office XP.  Have cleaned with PCCillian, TrendMicro HouseCall, SpyDoctor, McAfee's Stinger, and a couple of others;  they all show clean now.

I'm stumped.
